The field is the same color as the corn stalk. It was designed in 1978 by Township Historian Prich Matthews. The seal in the middle has a horse to represent Bedminster’s equestrian heritage as well as the United States Equestrian Team (USET) which is headquartered here. The corn stalk represents our agricultural nature. T is crossed with a Revolutionary War style cannon to represent General Henry Knox’s encampment here in Bedminster which was our nation’s first military academy (the precursor to West Point). The date 1749 is the year Bedminster was established under King George II. We have the original charter from King George which was presented to us from the Forbes Family.
